FAQ

What the Hell is it with the tattoos on people’s arms?

Yes, the government in this time tattoos everybody at age fourteen. The tattoos are either on the forearm or the back of the neck, and all members of society have them. The Black Bars show the ranking structure for each class. The Gold Class, technically part of the Blue Class, has two ranks, the Emperor (High Councilor), and his Council. The Gold Glass are collectively referred to as The Authority. The Blue Class also known as Class One Citizens, has two ranks, one bar, and no bar, while the green class has four ranks, no bars through three bars, and the red class has five ranks. What should also be noted is that there is no chance for upward mobility, while there is great opportunity for class demotion.

So to break that rank structure down textually it would look like this:

Cynosure Class SystemThe High Councilor: Essentially, an Emperor. White circle centered on Gold Circle. When the Emperor dies, the white circle is blacked out.

The Council, The Authority: Typically there are nine Ruling Authority, counting the Emperor. When the Emperor dies (usually because of a well played assassination attempt), the next selected Council Member is promoted.

Class Ones, The Blue Class: This Class comprises Satraps (Blue Class dispatched to control colonies on other worlds), the Officers of the Military Police Force, (Code and Law) Enforcers, doctors and physicians, instructors, and administrative personnel serving The Authority. This last group are known collectively as The Administration.

Class Twos, the Green Class: The working class, involved in the production of resources, maintenance of facilities and equipment necessary to the comfort and ambitions of The Blue Class and the Authority, afforded marginal protection from the baser needs ot the Blue Class. This class includes noncommissioned soldiers and security forces, factory workers, nurses, janitors, construction workers, chefs, architects, engineers, and teachers and school administrators.

Class Threes, the Red Class: This is the class that has almost no protection from the Blue Class or the Authority. However, the separation of the Green and Red Class are strictly enforced. Teenage love affairs across class lines is usually punishable by torture for the Red Class, and deportment for the Green, except in rare cases where the Green Class is simply demoted down to the Red Tier. Red Class professions include all service industries, waiting in Blue Class restaurants, Blue Class hotel servitors, nannies, and house maids. Men and women born into the Red Class must submit to any order given them by the Blue class, regardless of the nature of the order.
